We are now welcoming applications from Student Midwives who are finishing their programme and will be ready to join our team between January - April 2025.

We are a well-established tertiary unit that have the privilege to care for women and birthing people of all levels of medical care. As a specialist unit for fetal prematurity and surgery, and for maternal cardiac patients, you will have this unique opportunity to develop your skills under the close support of the maternal medicine and preterm labour specialist midwives. You will obtain skills in all areas including low risk midwifery, delivery suite, antenatal and postnatal wards, community and our continuity of carer teams.

We are proud to have an outstanding inhouse practice development team who will support you during your supernumerary period, provide a comprehensive orientation programme, and a Practice Education Facilitator who will work one to one with you in practice to ensure a smooth transition to our unit. We are also delighted to have a Diversity Inclusion Practice Education Facilitator who leads and supports on initiative and education to promote equality, diversity and human rights.

Main duties of the job

Main duties
  • Be flexible with a caring attitude, rotating throughout the maternity departments and to be a part of the on-call service that we provide.
  • Be able to communicate and work together in a multidisciplinary team.
  • To be able to develop your clinical skills and participate in continuing your professional development

To be considered for this role you must hold/be working towards a full UK driving licence and have access to a car.
