We have an exciting opportunity for a clinical psychologist who is keen to work in community mental healthcare. The vacancy is available as a fixed-term post or secondment for one year in the first instance. A substantive post may be negotiable.

You will help us develop and deliver psychology services to the community mental health teams in Southampton. Working alongside colleagues, you will provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations and interventions. You will be attached to the Central CMHT and will provide consultation, supervision and training to staff within the multi-disciplinary team. You will also be involved in MDT meetings and complex case panels.

You should have experience of working with people with severe and enduring mental health problems, where psychosis and severe interpersonal difficulties are part of their presentation. We are looking for someone who has well-developed interpersonal, clinical, quality improvement and research skills, with the resilience needed to thrive in a busy city-based NHS service.

You will be based at College Keep, Southampton and receive professional leadership and line management from the Principal Clinical Psychologist who is also based at College Keep.

You will join a friendly and supportive team of psychologists and psychological therapists with a wealth of expertise including CBT, DBT, CAT, ACT, EMDR and psychodynamic approaches. We have good supervision structures and an excellent track record of CPD, as well as strong links with the University of Southampton and the University of Plymouth.

We are committed to equality of opportunity and keen to increase the diversity of our team.

Hampshire offers an attractive mix of city, coastal and countryside lifestyles. Its attractions include the idyllic town of Petersfield in the South Downs, the cosmopolitan waterfront cities of Portsmouth and Southampton, the captivating New Forest, and the quaint historic city of Winchester - voted the Best Place to Live in the UK.
