Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for a change and a role that offers lots of job satisfaction?

Our In-patient Therapy Team are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Uckfield Intermediate Care Unit. Within the role you will also be part of the wider inpatient therapy team working closely with Occupational Therapists and Clinical Leads across our other units (in Lewes, Haywards Heath and Crowborough).

The team is based in Uckfield Community Hospital. We provide rehabilitation for adults of any age with a wide range of health care needs including post orthopaedic surgery, frailty, amputees, Parkinson's disease and post falls recovery. You will be based on our 14 bedded unit as part of the multi-disciplinary team providing rehabilitation and discharge planning for our patients. Our Occupational Therapists are recognised and valued as integral to patient experience and outcomes and are supported professionally via our Occupational Therapy Lead structure.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated member of staff with effective communication skills, a flexible approach, and an ability to work under pressure, both as part of a multi-disciplinary team and independently.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible, alongside the multi-disciplinary team, for complex caseload management providing rehabilitation and enabling the patients to meet their agreed goals.

In collaboration with the patient, planning and implementing treatment interventions, prescribing equipment and discharge planning.

To develop and maintain a high standard of clinical practice as a member of the multidisciplinary team, in line with the code of professional conduct of the College of Occupational Therapists.

To work alongside physiotherapist, therapy practitioners and rehabilitation support workers, jointly working, delegating and overseeing workload where appropriate.

Review and reflect on your practice through regular participation in professional supervision. To provide clinical supervision to other members of the team, as agreed with the Therapy Lead.
