We are looking for a motivated and skilled mental health professional (Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker) to lead the South West Surrey perinatal mental health team covering Guildford, Waverley and Surrey Heath. Main duties of the job

As Team Manager you will work clinically and hold a caseload of women as well as having dedicated time for managerial duties supported by the Service Manager. You will provide specialist assessments and interventions to women during pregnancy, delivery and up to 24 months postnatal. You will jointly manage new referrals coming into the service and the triage function of the service.

The post holder will develop strong links with stakeholders such as the Parent Infant mental health service, Health Visiting, Family Nurse Partnership, Midwifery, Adult Mental Health, Children’s services and GPs. The role will incorporate offering training and supervision within the team and externally.

Job description Job responsibilities

This role will be responsible for providing high quality mental health care within the perinatal service, by ensuring relevant clinical supervision is provided to staff, standards of service provision are set, monitored and maintained and that the women who use the service are involved in the service in the way they wish to be.

Person Specification Experience Essential
  • Additional academic clinical qualification relevant to area of work.
  • 3 years experience post qualification in mental health services which must include experience of providing clinical supervision.
Qualifications Essential
  • Clinical qualification i.e. RMN, OT, SW and professional registration
  • Successful completion of Mentorship course or equivalent
  • Driving license suitable for use in the United Kingdom
Desirable
  • Experience in perinatal mental health care
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification
  • Leadership experience
