An exciting opportunity for a band 7 has arisen within our friendly and progressive Pharmacy team at GOSH. We are looking for a candidate who has previous experience of working in a GMP, GCP and/or QA related environment to join our department as a Specialist Rotational pharmacist. In this role you will gain experience in Technical Services, Quality Assurance and Clinical Trials.

Main duties of the job

To participate in the day-to-day delivery of the aseptic, QA and Clinical Trial services from GOSH Hospital in accordance with the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice, Good Clinical Practice and nationally agreed standards. To support on rotation, the preparation and release of cytotoxic, CIVAS and PN products, the Quality Assurance programme for manufacturing, and Clinical Trial service. To support and train others rotating through the department.

Academic/Professional qualification/Training

Essential

  • Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • MPharm or equivalent or BPharm/BSc Hons for those qualified before 2002
  • Evidence portfolio to demonstrate mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice


Desirable

  • Currently undertaking or intends to undertake postgraduate education e.g. clinical diploma, PTQA or having completed one of these


Experience/Knowledge

Essential

  • Previous experience of working in a manufacturing unit
  • Previous experience of working in a with clinical trials.
  • Working knowledge or understanding of principles and practices of quality assurance, aseptics and clinical trials e.g. formulation, stability, legal issues and relevant policies
  • Working knowledge of isolators and laminar air flow technology
  • A factual and working knowledge of the materials and equipment necessary for the preparation of aseptically manufactured products within a clean room environment.
  • To demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the concepts of Good Manufacturing Practice, Good Clinical Practice, Health and Safety, COSHH and National Standards.
  • To have knowledge of NHS, Local, Regional and National Standards

Essential

  • Computer literate, with experience of using a wide range of computer programs. Essential: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel Desirable: Q-Pulse, EPIC

  • Innovation - planned and implemented a new service or method of working

  • Experience of Clinical/QA audits/Practice Research
