We are recruiting for a Lead Radiographer for our bone densitometry service who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Lead Radiographer to oversee the day-to-day operation of our bone densitometry service at the Hertford County Hospital, Hertford, and to provide clinical leadership . The successful applicant must have successfully completed the Royal Osteoporosis Society National Training Scheme for Bone Densitometry.
The Radiology department has twoHologic Horizon W scanners. There are also plain films rooms and ultrasound rooms on site.
The role encompasses staff management, organisation of departmental workload and representation of Radiology within the multi-disciplinary environment at the hospital.
You will have extensive clinical knowledge and skill in bone densitometry, together with a commitment to support the team in providing the highest standards of service. They will be confident in taking responsibility and making decisions in matters relating to staff, patients and the service.
In addition, you will receive a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary,subject to a minimum payment of �1,192 and a maximum payment of �2,011

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the bone densitometry service at Hertford County Hospital.
To be responsible for delivery of an effective and efficient high quality specialist imaging service and patient care that meets the needs of patients and referrers.
Promote bone densitometry excellence.
To maintaining excellent clinical standards.
Actively participate in technical and patient focused aspects of the department's Audit andClinical Governance programmes. This may involve preparing and delivering short presentations
This post is based at the Hertford County hospital but rotation to other sites may be necessary to maintain effective service levels.
