Job Title: Occupational Therapist Specialist in Specialist Palliative Care Team (Community)
Salary band: Band 6
Hours: 30 – 37.5 hours substantive post
Location: Community Specialist Palliative Care (SPC) Team based at the Rowans Hospice, Purbrook, Hants. PO7 5RU.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Community Specialist Palliative Care Team covering Fareham, Gosport and South East Hampshire.
We are looking for an experienced Band 6 Occupational to work alongside the Band 6 and 7 Occupational therapists within the team as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team, both in the community and Rowans hospice.
The Community SPC Team strive to deliver high quality, specialist palliative care and advice across the geographical area. We are committed to collaborative, integrated working with Primary Care Teams and partner providers of palliative care services.
The Successful applicant must have a degree or diploma in Occupational therapy, HCPC registration. The post holder will hold a clinical caseload in a community setting and support the team with triage and complex assessment of patients, they will possess excellent communication skills and be competent in linking with the larger multidisciplinary team. They will need to be well organised, friendly and approachable and able to demonstrate maturity and skill in responding sensitively to patients and families with a life limiting illness. There will be the opportunity to be involved in the development of the service.
As a team we offer excellent CPD opportunities; we have regular multi-disciplinary teaching, therapy education, structured 1:1 supervision and an appraisal system in place. We are also very fortunate to have multidisciplinary group clinical supervision.
The post holder will work autonomously within the context of a supportive comprehensive multi-professional specialist team. Car driver is essential.
