We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist with a passion for working with children and young people in a vibrant and diverse area of Bristol.

It is a fantastic opportunity for you to undertake and develop assessments and formulations, which underpin the young people's care and treatment plans, provide consultation and support to the wider team in holding a psychological understanding in the care they provide to young people and provide training to the team. It is a real opportunity for you to be able to work as a psychologist using the skills you have developed. There is potential for growth and development in the post and for you to bring your creativity as a psychologist to the post. The wider multi-professional team respect, value and seek psychology support in the team.

Main duties of the job

- Assessment of children and young people referred to the team.

- Development of treatment plans.

- Multi-Agency working.

- Specialist clinics relevant to clinicians area of skills and experience.

- Risk assessment and management.

Job description Job responsibilities

The East and Central Bristol CAMHS Team is located within a community settlement in a vibrant area of Central Bristol. The post holder will be offering consultation, assessment and treatment to young people and families from a diverse range of backgrounds. The post holder should be passionate about working within diverse communities andbe keen to develop an awareness of local community organisations and services that support the wellbeing of all families.

Person Specification Experience Essential
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
  • Experience of working in CAMHS
  • Experience of delivering at least one NICE guideline recommended therapy
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team with children and young people within a NHS mental health setting
  • Experience of assessing and managing risk in young people with mental health difficulties
Desirable
  • Experience in providing consultation to other team members and junior psychology staff on formulation and therapy
  • Experience of assessment and treatment of children with neurodiversity
  • Further training ina specific evidence based therapeutic approach, e.g., EMDR, CBT, DBT, PBS
  • Research and Audit Skills
