We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic, and proactive individual with a strong background in delivering wellbeing provision across health and social care settings. Promoting and championing co-production, whilst working in partnership with community networks and organisations, will be a core element to this role. The successful applicant will have a keen interest in primary care, co-production and recovery. They will have excellent interpersonal skills and experience of working with people who have mental health problems. We are looking for someone who has enthusiasm, confidence as well as the ability to work both flexibly and autonomously to strategically build the wellbeing element of NHS Sutton Talking Therapies.

Sutton Wellbeing Team is an integral part of Sutton Talking Therapies, which delivers a range of evidence-based psychological interventions to people with common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression using a stepped care model. The Wellbeing Team supports service delivery by leading on wellbeing initiatives that are aligned with the SWLSTG Talking Therapies strategy - including improving patient access and engagement with the service.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for the smooth and effective operational management and co-ordination of the Wellbeing Provision within NHS Sutton Talking Therapies

To establish systems for increasing referrals and ensuring smooth process pathway for responding to referrers and linking with other elements of the service

To work in close partnership with the Talking Therapies and Wellbeing multi-disciplinary team, and multiple teams including the other borough Wellbeing Team Leads, actively promoting cohesive working.

To have daily liaison with community organizations to develop wellbeing provision

To hold full managerial responsibility for all interns and other voluntary staff members ensuring they work within an agreed operational policy and providing support and consultation in the process.

To work closely with the senior management team i.e. Step Leads and Referral and Care Pathway Lead in Talking Therapies, to ensure that all Talking Therapies clinicians adhere to operational policies.

To support the administrative functions of the team, and support administration staff with understanding referral pathways as they are developed between organizations.

To carry through all agreed procedures in regard to staff disciplinary and sickness absence arrangements for the Trust to the level of the post.

Job responsibilities

The planning, implementation, and evaluation of Wellbeing interventions which support the SWLSTG Talking Therapies strategy

The recruitment and management of staff in the Wellbeing team including interns and all voluntary support workers from various organisations

Working in conjunction with all team members, to provide a seamless, safe and comprehensive Talking Therapies service

Champion the Trust values within the service

To support an increase in referrals and access to the service by leading on the delivery of the Talking Therapies marketing strategy

To support patient engagement and optimize clinical outcomes

Manage Trust allocated resources under supervision of Service manager

Risk assessment and management review of all service users accessing wellbeing workshops and initiatives, recording accurately on IAPTUS system and escalating if required.

Person Specification

Training & Qualification

Essential

  • Educated to degree level in a health or social care discipline
  • Evidence of continuing professional and personal development
  • Professional management qualification at diploma level or equivalent


Desirable

  • Project Management qualification e.g. PRINCE2 foundation level


Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a health or social care management role with a core focus on Wellbeing provision
  • Experience of working with people who experience ongoing mental health problems
  • 2 years minimum experience of working in a primary care mental health setting
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience of leading a wellbeing service or equivalent, managing and supervising staff
  • Experience of contributing to policy and procedure development and implementation
  • Experience of managing and monitoring budgets


Desirable

  • Project or change management experience


Knowledge & Skills

Essential

  • Specialist knowledge of effective models of mental health and social care provision
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding issues and child protection requirements/legislation and how these apply to the role
  • Knowledge of counselling skills, group skills, cognitive skills, and behavioural skills
  • Knowledge of legislation related to mental health provision and practice
  • Knowledge of the current health care climate and government priorities
  • Knowledge of psychosocial interventions
  • Knowledge of our business and how it supports patient care
  • Skills in assessment, care planning and case management
  • Ability to assess clinical situations quickly, monitor risk and use initiative
  • Ability to work as an active member of the multidisciplinary team
