There is an exciting opportunity to join the Women's and Children's Clinical Management Group (CMG) as the Deputy Head of Operations for the Women's Hospital. The post holder will operationally lead the Women's Hospital, working alongside the Women's Hospital Quadrumvirate Senior Leadership Team. This will include but is not limited to operational delivery, service development, and strategic planning.
The Women's Hospital is home to a number of significant services, offering tertiary care to the population of Leicester, Leicestershire, Rutland, right across the East Midlands and beyond. This includes two maternity sites delivering in excess of 10,000 births per year, a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit which cares for some of the most complex neonatal patients across the region, and an expansive tertiary Gynaecology service with now approaching 40 Consultant colleagues working across numerous sub-specialties.
The wider CMG has a budget exceeding �200m, a workforce of more than 2,000 colleagues, and delivers numerous specialist and tertiary services across our six Directorates of Paediatric Medicine (Children's), Paediatric Surgery (Children's), Paediatric Critical Care (Children's), Specialist Transport (Children's), Maternity & Neonates (Women's), and Gynaecology, Genetics, and Leicester Fertility Centre (Women's).
Main duties of the job
In post as a senior leader within the CMG, you will be responsible for promoting the vision and values of University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL). This includes leading by example, ensuringdemonstrationof those values inleadership behaviours, and supporting the delivery of outstanding patient care.
The overriding purpose of this role is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.
The post holder will deputise for the Head of Operations in the full range of duties and will have fully delegated decision-making responsibilities during any period of deputising.
The post holder will be responsible for providing operational and strategic leadership to a significant collection of services as well as a wider portfolio of cross service responsibilities in support of the delivery of high quality, effective, and efficient patient care.
