An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated and enthusiastic registered nurses to join Endoscopy and Bowel Cancer Services Department within the trust. Endoscopy experience preferred but not essential

although this is a permanent post based at UHH cross site working and participation on the GI Emergency on call rota is a requirement

North Tees and Hartlepool Endoscopy units are recognized for providing both high level quality care to our patients and exceptional learning opportunities for all members of the team

The successful applicant will work within a multidisciplinary team and across clinical boundaries in support of patient care. Good communication is essential as you will be expected to communicate effectively with patients their relatives and carers and other professionals working in the trust.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work in all areas of the department which includes admitting recovery and discharge of patients working in the procedure rooms participating on 24 hour emergency on call at both the North Tees and the Hartlepool site

Successful candidates can expect full training and support in developing the skills required

Job responsibilities

Main responsibilities are work as part of a multidisciplinary team participating in all aspects of clinical care of patients attending the unit including admission, discharge and recovery working within procedure rooms assisting in complex therapeutic procedures.

Qualifications

Essential

  • 1st Level registered nurse/degree/diploma in nursing


Desirable

  • Teaching and assessing qualification


Experience

Essential

  • post registraion experience in a clinical setting evidenc of on going professional development


Desirable

  • endoscopy experience


Skills /aptitudes

Essential

  • excellent communication skills ability to work on own initiative


Desirable

  • experience of dealing with members of the public


disposition

Essential

  • flexible able to cope with different work environments


Desirable

  • ability to work under pressure /meet tight deadlines whilst delivering high quality work
