An exciting opportunity to has arisen for a highly specialised cardiac physiologist/Echocardiographer to join our expanding cardiology team. The successful candidate must BSE accredited and competent in performing and reporting adult echo's with experience in training students and medical staff. Ideally you should have some experience in assisting with TOE's, bubble studies and DSE's.
Main duties of the job
To perform unsupervised Cardiac Ultrasound examinations to diagnose Cardiac abnormalities.
To provide clinical interpretation and high technical expertise on Cardiac Ultrasound scans performed by self and junior members of staff, in accordance with the British Society of Echocardiography standards, guidelines and departmental protocols and policies. Acting appropriately in the event of significant adverse findings, alerting physicians when immediate medical attention is required.
To take responsibility to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation on patients in an emergency situation.
Awareness of adverse clinical conditions/clinical events occuring during the investigations and ensuring swift and appropriate action is taken to minimise life threatening or significant medical events.
To be familiar with current developments in the field of Cardiology.
To liaise with other departments and Companies regarding maintenance and repairs to existing equipment within the department.
To liaise in conjunction with the Head of Department, regarding evaluation of new clinical equipment.
To be involved in the Stress Echo and TOE services and receive appropriate training if needed

- British Society of Echocardiography accreditation (BSE)
- ILS certificate

- Registration for RCCP

- Significant experience as a Specialised Cardiac Physiologist
- Highly specialised and advanced knowledge of Echocardiography
