THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 7 MONTHS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE.

As a key member of the Directorate Team, the Procurement Manager is responsible for managing and optimising the purchasing and control of consumables and equipment across multiple sites. Key duties include liaising with procurement teams, overseeing projects, ensuring compliance with financial and legal guidelines, while maintaining effective stock management systems. The role involves continuous service improvement, financial management, as well as providing leadership and training to the team. Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders is crucial to ensure a streamlined supply chain process that supports clinical and administrative operations.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Effectively develop, manage, co-ordinate, plan and organise the purchasing and control of consumables & equipment used throughout the multiple sites within the directorate.
Liaise with Front-Line Procurement teams and NHS Wales Shared Services Personnel during contract tender exercises representing the best interests of the Department and the Health Board.
Assist in the management of projects within the directorate from concept to implementation via effective planning, researching, coordinating, implementation and review.
Working closely with other Emergency and Acute departments & MTC organisations as well as other Health Board departments to influence choice, prioritise change and deliver savings, product standardisation, and service improvement.
Ensure that the service is sensitive, responsive and flexible to the dynamic and ever-changing needs of the service.
Provide management and leadership to a team, ensuring compliance with policy and training to deliver a coherent and resilient service.
