Band 6 Experienced Physiotherapist - Hip Fragility Unit

We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity to come and join our team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. We are looking to employ a skilled, forward thinking, dynamic individual as an Elderly Care Orthopaedic Physiotherapist. We have recently been accredited as a University Department of Elderly Care.
The post is suitable for a physiotherapist with experience working in elderly care and orthopaedics. The post will also be required to work across the Elderly Care department, working with individuals with a variety of complex needs and within a heavily integrated team. Weekend working (via a rota) will be included.
The successful applicant will have Elderly Care experience and possess assessment, clinical reasoning and treatment skills. You will have sound IT skills and demonstrate the Trust's values of Compassion, Aspiration, Resourcefulness and Excellence.
There is the potential for this role to be offered as a development opportunity, however this will be at the discretion of the interview panel and appointing team.
Main duties of the job
To be an Experienced Physiotherapist working for Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust Hospital on the hip fragility unit and elderly care wards.
To participate in the management and clinical leadership of physiotherapy in conjunction with the Band 7 advanced specialist or professional lead.
To use specialist physiotherapy knowledge and clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist support and advice to the physiotherapy team and to manage own caseload of patients with complex conditions as an autonomous practitioner.
To ensure a high quality, effective and efficient physiotherapy service in elderly care.
To be a member of the Therapy Department contributing to planning and policy development in these departments.
To deputise for the Band 7 as required. To be a member of the Therapy Department team, contributing to service development in Therapies and the Trust.
To deputise for the Band 7 clinical lead Physiotherapist as required.
