A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced Midwife to lead our established Barkantine Team as Team Leader. Our Birth Centre remains closed to Intrapartum care currently. However, we have an active Community service continuing to run from the centre.
We know Community teams can be some of the most satisfying and empowering teams to work in. We have built this team to not only provide excellent care, but to also care and invest in the Midwives and Maternity Support workers within the team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and motivated individual who provides excellent care for women and their families, living in Tower Hamlets. You will be part of a supportive and experienced team currently providing antenatal and postnatal care.
We value your experience working alongside us and acknowledge that fulfilled Midwives put service users at the centre of their work. As a Midwife you are part of the woman's family and develop a mutually respectful and satisfying relationship.
We understand and value that each of our midwives are individuals. With individual needs, motivation, and aspiration we are committed in supporting you. Alongside your Matron as a line manager, you will also have support from our Professional Midwifery Advocates, through Restorative Clinical Supervision, group and 1:1 sessions.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for coordinating and developing services that are personalised to the needs of pregnant women and their babies.
The post holder will provide effective leadership within the group practice model of care working in partnership with the community teams and all clinical areas. They will work collaboratively with other multi-disciplinary team members contribute to the education and professional development of staff in the acute and primary care setting. He/she will be actively involved in providing clinical care and education to women and their families and provide on- going support to midwives and GP's caring for pregnant women. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring there is on-going auditing, monitoring and evaluation of the service provided.
