As the post holder, you will be a crucial member of the education and development team, responsible for leading and driving innovative and effective educational programs for healthcare professionals. The Clinical Education team is at the heart of this and comprises a growing, innovative and highly motivated set of multi-professionals, recognised as individuals and a collaborative team at both local and national levels.
You will be contributing and leading on Educational strategies and programs for healthcare professionals within the NHS, lead and manage a team of educators to deliver high-quality training and educational programs, collaborate with key stakeholders and senior decision makers to identify and understand the educational needs of the Trust and its staff, and stay up-to-date with advancements in healthcare education and incorporate new techniques, technologies, and methodologies to enhance quality of learning
Main duties of the job
This role sits within the Nursing Corporate team and will provide senior leadership and management in delivering the Clinical Education portfolio. The post holder will support and deputise for the Assistant Director of Clinical Education in developing and delivering the Trusts learning and education strategy. They will be responsible for leading the operational delivery of the Trusts clinical (non-medical) education and practice development service and work collaboratively with professionals across the organisation, campus partners, external institutions and NHSE/ICS colleagues to identify and respond to the organisational clinical training and development needs.
Key duties include the operational delivery of Clinical Education with supportive strategic oversight of the Trusts Share & Educate strategic objects. To line manage a dedicated team of multiprofessional educators and assure operational delivery of comprehensive training and development service to the Trust's clinical non-medical workforce and non-medical students.
The role requires close working with our Workforce and Operational Development function to support delivery of shared agendas and interdependent services. This is largely a non-clinical role but requires a strong understanding and experience in a clinical professional role. The ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team in a professional manner and to work on own initiative to a high standard are key requirements.
