Main duties of the job

This is for 1 x 6PA Substantive CAMHS Consultant posts which are part of the generic Tier 3 multidisciplinary team at the Royal Free Hospital. The post holders will work with other Consultant and junior doctor colleagues, providing psychiatric assessment and management of cases within the Neurodevelopment Service, and will also contribute materially to the daytime on call rota.

About us

The post holders will be part of the clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team and offer consultation to other professional and agencies and facilitate the development of the team and wider service.

There will be a particular focus on ADHD, Autism and on contributing to the daytime on call rota.

Person Specification

Education & Professional Qualifications

Essential

  • On the specialist register of the General Medical Council (GMC) for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Registered with the GMC and within 6 months (at the scheduled time of the advisory appointments committee) of being accepted for the specialist register for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Fellowship / Membership of relevant Royal College of Psychiatry Section 12 approved / equivalent


Desirable

  • Level 3 child Protection training

Essential

  • Member of Medical Defence organisation


Experience / Knowledge

Essential

  • Recent experience with CAMHS emergencies
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the environment in which the service needs to be delivered


Desirable

  • Liaison experience
  • Experience in Children's Safeguarding


Skills & Attitudes

Essential

  • Ability to support to multidisciplinary team


Desirable

  • Experience of and/or interest in a clinical leadership role
