The Royal London Hospital Endoscopy Unit is looking for a dynamic and forward thinking band 6 Junior Sister / Charge Nurse, to join the existing team of junior management.
We are looking for people with commitment to endoscopy. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to work as part of a large team. You should be flexible and approachable with a positive attitude, as this is the ethos of the centre.
We are a friendly department within a purpose-built centre with 5 endoscopy rooms and a 17 bedded recovery area with step down facilities. We have a dedicated team of nurses who practise team nursing and rotate to all areas of the department.
We undertake all Endoscopy procedures including, ERCP, Spyglass, ESD, EUS, EBUS, Capsule Endoscopy and Bowel Cancer screening and Straight to Test Endoscopy. The unit is currently open from 08.00 to 19.00hrs.Working on a six day working rotaWe are committed to supporting and developing our staff and our service.
We have an active clinical governance group which has been running for over 14 years and which you would be expected to contribute to.

The provision of high standard of Individualised holistic patient care to all patients attending the endoscopy unit, assist with procedures and work as part of a large multidisciplinary team.
Co-ordinating the unit on a regular basis. Supervising own team, providing appraisal, teaching and support.

- Relevant previous ward experience.

- Knowledge of recovery of patients who have undergone therapeutic procedure during endoscopy
- Knowledge of medication used in endoscopy.

Skills
Essential
- Able to assist all endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopy, gastroscopy, bronchoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound.
- You must be independent with all these procedures. Use of lifting solution, glue, dye spray.
