We are looking for someone who isConfident in leadership and has excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in Urology. Successful candidate will be able to gain experience by working on the ward and our triage unit.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a Band 6 Deputy Sister to join the Urology Ward at the Churchill Hospital.

The Urology Ward is a 20-bedded unit with a team of consultants operating Monday to Saturday.

You will contribute to the smooth running of the unit, acting as a role model for junior staff and students, supporting the delivery of compassionate excellence. The post holder will be responsible for the training and development needs of a team of junior staff, with the support of the ward sister. You will work closely with the ward sister and other members of the management team and will deputize for the ward sister in her absence.

You will need to cover Urology triage at night, which will be a great experience and will help improve your clinical decision-making skills.

  • Post-registration experience at Band 5/6
  • Surgical/Urology surgery experience
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience of multidisciplinary collaborative practice
  • Good organisational skills
  • IT and data analysis skills
  • NMC Registered Nurse
  • Leadership experience
