Are you passionate about working with neurodiverse people? Are you looking for a change of direction? Are you committed to making a difference, one person at a time? If the answer is yes, then we welcome your application.
The Somerset Adult ADHD service is actively recruiting a Band 6 nurse to join our innovative team. We are a busy, hard working countywide service, providing patient centred ADHD assessments and treatment to adults living in Somerset who have not already been given an ADHD diagnosis.
We work collaboratively and consultatively with colleagues within Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, wider support networks and agencies to deliver an integrated service model.
We have a strong value base of supporting staff wellbeing, creating a safe and positive team culture. As a team, we embody our organisational values of kindness, respect and teamwork to facilitate the best outcomes for our service users.
Main duties of the job
You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to conduct ADHD assessments, employing evidence-based tools and processes. Showcase your expertise within this specialist service by offering advice, education, and support to staff, patients, their families, and carers.
Work both independently and under direct clinical supervision. You will be empowered to make autonomous clinical decisions and implement complex interventions based on your own clinical judgement.
In this role, you will collaboratively assess the needs of service users, maintain comprehensive records, provide follow-up to monitor treatment responses, and contribute to the development of non-pharmacological treatments within the service. Communication with service users, families, referrers, and other relevant agencies will be integral.
You will also foster strong relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including the Trust Psychological Well-being Service, Children's Services, Single Point of Access, GPs, and Commissioners where appropriate.
