We are looking for an enthusiastic band 7 Occupational Therapist with paediatric experience to come and join our team of paediatric Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists here in Rotherham. This role is a part-time role (25.5hrs per week). You will be joining a community based team working with Children aged 0-19 years with a range of neurological, genetic and developmental conditions. We work in partnership with families, and carers in a variety of settings, including preschool and schools both special and mainstream, Patients homes, clinics, and the child development centre. You will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team. We are a friendly, supportive team committed to providing high quality care. Your professional development will be supported by the Band 8a Clinical Lead for the Service and other Band 7's who you will work closely with. You will be part of an in-service training programme and you will have opportunity to access external training.
Main duties of the job
Your main duties will be to work within our Special Schools team, assessing and treating children aged 5-19. You will hold your own caseload of children and be expected to manage this autonomously. You will be expected to delegate effectively to all junior staff and coordinate the day-today running of the service including reallocating staff when needed. You will assess for and issue postural equipment as clinically indicated this may include postural seating, toileting/bathing support and manual handling equipment e.g. slings, transfer aids etc... You will be involved in the use of national outcome measures e.g. CPUPS and expected to take the lead in this outcome measure when it is a patient on your caseload being assessed. You will be leading on quality improvement and service development projects including supporting the Clinical Lead in submitting business cases if required. You will be expected to support with on-going audits that the service requires to submit for KPI data.

- Degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy by recognised awarding body e.g. Royal Society of Occupational Therapy
- Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the county and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010
