We are looking to appoint a Band 5 Employee Relations Advisor.
The post holder will be responsible to the Senior Employee Relations Advisor for the provision of a professional high quality, comprehensive Employee Relations Services to specific care groups.
Key areas of activity will include assisting, advising and supporting managers in relation to sickness management, however involvement in other employee relations (ER) issues will certainly be required. This role may involve working between all sites of King's College Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will primarily provide support to line managers on the management and reduction of sickness absence. The post holder will be required to provide advice and guidance on the interpretation and application of the Trust's sickness absence procedures and to ensure that these procedures are adhered to.
Additionally, the post holder will be required to undertake any other duties such as other non-complex ER activities and project work to ensure a first class ER service is delivered.
The post holder will need to work autonomously with minimum supervision and using their initiative to successfully deliver their work to an excellent standard.

Employee Relations (ER)
To assist in the management of attendance to support the achievement of targets for the reduction of sickness absence rates by providing advice to line managers in the interpretation and application of the Trusts sickness absence procedures and to ensure that these procedures are adhered to. To assist managers with Occupational Health referrals and establish close working relationship with the Occupational Health Department. To assist managers in writing, drafting and presenting management cases for sickness and other ER cases. Service Development To continually review working practices and policies, and where necessary, make recommendations to the ER Team Leader and implement changes. To contribute to the content, structure and delivery of formal and ad hoc training programmes to Trust staff of all levels on general HR areas such as sickness and performance management, disciplinary issues and any other areas as and when required. To participate and upon request to take the lead in special projects, studies, and initiatives for the team and/or department as required by the HR Business Partner
Information Management
To ensure that all ER activity is logged and that information systems are maintained in a timely and accurate manner. To produce ER activity data and reports as required.
