An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, caring, enthusiastic and diligent individual to join the fantastic team in the Cardio Respiratory Clinical Service Unit as a Band 7 Senior Clinical Educator.
The Cardio-respiratory Clinical Service Unit (CSU) comprises of Adult Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery based at Leeds General Infirmary, and Adult Respiratory services based at St James Hospital with a wide range of sub speciality services on sites within LTHT. Nationally and internationally recognised we provide a number of secondary care and tertiary services across the Yorkshire region and beyond.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a proactive role model who will work across the Clinical Service Unit CSU to support the delivery of excellent patient care and professional standards. They will play a lead role in ensuring the development of clinical staff both registered and unregistered and be responsible for a team of clinical educators and ensuring the quality and development of training and education across the CSU. The Senior Clinical Educator role will also include
Supporting the assessment of the quality of clinical and other practice learning environments and implement interventions for improvement.
Supporting mentors and assessors and ensure clinical professional development for preceptorship and other role developments.
Enhancing the quality of care delivery from both the registered and unregistered workforce through engaging clinical teams to learn from incidents, audits, PALs and complaints.
Enabling and supporting the development of interdisciplinary and cross city working to ensure the sharing of good practice and delivery of high quality, effective and efficient care.
Deputising for the Lead Nurse for Quality and Governance during periods of absence or when delegated to do so.
Being clinically competent and maintain competence in all aspects of nursing care and disseminate specialist knowledge & skills through experience, education, and training.
