We currently have vacancies for two Band 5 Data Quality Assurance Analysts. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity within the Data Quality Assurance Department, at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust.

The ideal candidate will possess:

A strong understanding of the significance of data quality.

The ability to investigate and analyse data effectively.

Knowledge of the NHS Data Dictionary, including data sets and standards.

An understanding of patient pathways.

Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Our department is committed to enhancing data capture processes, improving reporting accuracy, and ensuring data integrity and governance. We are seeking a proactive problem solver with a strong work ethic, who is enthusiastic, able to multi-task, work independently, and eager to learn and apply new skills.

A solid educational background is required, with a Level 4 qualification or equivalent experience in advanced Excel use for data storage, organisation and reporting. Experience with the Trust's Meditech V6 system and a basic understanding of SQL is beneficial but not mandatory, as training will be provided.

Main duties of the job

37.5 hours per week

The successful candidate will be instrumental in analysing and monitoring complex data to enhance efficiency and resolve data quality issues. This role involves close collaboration with key stakeholders, services, and staff to ensure the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of data across the Trust's clinical systems. Additionally, the role includes ensuring seamless processes between Information Services and Data Quality Assurance, particularly regarding statutory returns and external submissions. The post holder will also be responsible for identifying and addressing data quality concerns to not only support clinical functions but also to ensure accurate service reporting and billing

Job description

Job responsibilities

To ensure that the provision of information in the form of reports, dashboards, datasets and statutory returns as appropriate meets the requirements of service users both internal and external

To optimise the use of technology within service provision

Analysis of data in order to produce reports, presentation materials and graphical data analysis materials

Manage and produce a robust data assurance audit cycle on all statutory returns produced by STSFT

Manipulation of data using spreadsheets and analytical tools

Compilation of standard reports and returns for the Trust Boards and NHS regional and national bodies

Liaison with Trust staff at STSFT to satisfy individual data extraction and analysis requirements

  • Level 4 qualification or equivalent experience in the advanced use of Microsoft Excel to store, order and report information.

  • Understanding of NHS Data Dictionary and Data Manual
