An exciting Fixed term opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and motivated Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Physiotherapy Team at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, to work in the area of General Medicine, Surgery and ICU.An internal secondment would be considered.

The Physiotherapy Team is proactive in providing a holistic service, working within the multi-disciplinary team to ensure our patients achieve their rehabilitation goals and are safely discharged in a timely manner.

For this role you will be HCPC registered, hold a degree or equivalent in physiotherapy and show evidence of post-graduate NHS experience, having completed a wide variety of rotations at Band 5 level.

As part of an active MDT, you will have excellent organisational and time management skills and be capable of communicating with a wide range of professionals and others about complex issues,or issues relating to discharge planning, be flexible and dynamic andhave a positive approach to enhancing service delivery and implementing NHS Frameworks and Quality Guidelines.

You will supervise students and junior members of staff and be involved in the delivery of the in-service training programme within the team. On occasions you will deputise for the Band 7 Physiotherapist.

Main duties of the job

As part of this post you will be expected to be flexible in your working pattern to cover a 7 day service across the Medical Team as service need requires and participate in the respiratory on call service.

Providing a specialist physiotherapy service to Critical care, Medical wards (including Respiratory medicine, Care of the elderly and Cardiology and General surgery.

To undertake specialist assessments, treatment and advice to patients with complex presentations and formulate a clinical diagnosis and physiotherapy treatment plan as an autonomous practitioner.

To participate in weekend working, extended hours and on-call working, as required, to ensure efficient therapy service provision in line with Trust priorities.
