This post is a 12 month Maternity Cover port. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Lung Cancer Directorate at Wythenshawe Hospital as a member of the Cecilia Centre team. The post holder will work on the chemotherapy day case unit and support patients undergoing SACT treatment. The nurse will have responsibility to work within the team in relation to education, audit and research in relation to lung cancer patients.

Main duties of the job

The Post holder will work alongside the Band 6 & 7 nurses, supporting them in the care and delivery of SACT treatment to patients on the unit. They will be given the opportunity to undertake the UKONS SACT passport training and further their communication skills.

  • Evidence of relevant post qualification study at postgraduate level or equivalent knowledge.


Experience

  • Evidence of working independently
  • Participating in audit / patient surveys
  • Ability to work and as part of a multidisciplinary / interdisciplinary team.
  • Awareness of relevant national and local targets / NSF frameworks.
  • Awareness of the Clinical Governance agenda
