We are looking for a skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to work within a well established and respected, adult multi-disciplinary community neurological team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of adults with a variety of neurological conditions offering rehabilitation, disability management and end of life care. The service offers Early Supported Discharge for Stroke patients. The Occupational Therapy Service also offers a comprehensive splinting service and vocational rehabilitation. There is a strong emphasis on multi-disciplinary working especially within service development and team learning. The MD teams include Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Dietician, Clinical Neuropsychologist, and Clinical Nurse Specialist who are supported by Psychology, Admin and Therapy Assistants.
Continuing professional development is actively supported via clinical supervision, annual Personal Development Plans, post-graduate and in-service training from a uni-professional and multi-disciplinary point of view. Supervision of students is actively encouraged. All our staff are fully supported by the Clinical Team Leader.

To undertake comprehensive assessments of patients with a diverse range of complex neurological presentations and multiple pathologies. To use investigative and analytical clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques, to make an accurate diagnosis, prognosis, intervention and discharge plan.

- To formulate and deliver specialist,individual treatment programmes and use experience to adapt these techniques, where necessary, to fit with the community environment and the availability / appropriateness of resources. This may form part of a multidisciplinary treatment plan.
- To undertake the measurement and evaluation of your intervention through the use of goal orientated treatment plans and outcome measures in order to progress treatment programmes and ensure clinical effectiveness.
