Applications are invited from qualified Occupational Therapists who possess a current Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy and are registered with the Health Professions Council to join a valued team of Paediatric Occupational Therapists working with children and young people across Shropshire (including Telford and Wrekin).
In this role you will be supported by a qualified senior occupational therapist to assess, plan and provide intervention for children and young people with physical and learning disabilities. Your role will involve working with children either individually or in small group settings in clinics, child development centres, schools and nurseries.

Main duties of the job
- To provide, with appropriate support, as an autonomous practitioner in occupational therapy , assessment, diagnosis and evidence-based treatment for service users and to liaise with and refer on to other health, education and social care providers as appropriate.
- To work as a member of the Community Service, contribute to its development and provide multidisciplinary functions (within the post holders sphere of competence) to service users in any setting required by the service
- To develop the post holders' own professional practice by keeping abreast of clinical developments and responding to available evidence.
- To provide face to face / remote coaching, training, information and advice to parents and other practitioners.
- To work in a variety of settings.
- To develop skills and knowledge in specialist areas with support from clinical leads and training offered by Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust.

- Candidates must have documented evidence of continuing professional development
- Ability to demonstrate a level of English language and grammar commensurate with writing in service user case notes.
Experience

- Experience of working in a multi disciplinary/multi agency health/social care/ educational environment
- Experience and knowledge of basic administration systems including Microsoft office
- Experience of successful partnership working arrangements with other services.
- Experience of working in the NHS, which may include experience gained on practice placements.
