The post holder will be responsible for the effective management of inpatient and outpatient performance in the Corporate RTT Team, encompassing management of all administrative and performance teams, to include corporate validation staff and working with Divisional Assistant General Managers (AGM's), Performance and Operational Managers, Assistant Performance and Operational Managers and outpatient and elective booking staff/validation staff as appropriate to the role.

The post holder will work alongside the A/GMs and other colleagues using the Trustwide RTT Patient Tracking List (PTL) and relevant reports to ensure delivery of high quality and timely care is undertaken within the Divisions. Working closely with a range of colleagues from all disciplines, the post holder will plan and co-ordinate resources within the COO Validation team to ensure achievement of access targets in line with National, regional and Trust objectives. The post holder will be responsible for monitoring demand for services and ensuring that the Trust achieves its key performance objectives. The post holder will also ensure that patients are managed in line with Trust policies and national standards for booking in order.

There is an expectation that the post holder act as lead for service improvement in booking processes to improve performance and support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the effective management of the Corporate Referral to Treatment team across the Bristol and Weston sites at UHBW. They will support the delivery of safe, high quality, patient-centred care and promote a positive working environment for staff.

The post holder will be responsible for proactive patient-level management of 18-week referral to treatment pathway and ensure achievement of access targets in line with National, regional and Trust objectives so a knowledge of Referral to treatment waiting time standards is essential.

There is an expectation that the post holder will as as lead for service improvement in booking processes, to improve performance and support delivery of high quality, patient-centres care.

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience


Desirable

  • Post-graduate qualification in healthcare management, or equivalent evidence of continuing professional development


Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience of managing a range of staff or a major service
  • Significant experience of budgetary management, including management of contract income
  • Acute sector operational experience
  • Experience and proven ability in managing organisational / service change


Desirable

  • NHS or public sector experience
  • Management of waiting lists and performance


Skills and Abilities

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with a wide range of people and to build credibility quickly
