Manual Handling Facilitator - 27 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of a Manual Handling Facilitator within Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking to recruit a confident and competent trainer to help facilitate the manual handling training delivery to our workforce. You must be enthusiastic, motivated, adaptable and team orientated. You will work within the larger Clinical Training Team. The post holder will be expected to deliver and monitor programmes of manual handling education and training to all disciplines and grades of staff within the Trust. This will include the training/development of staff in a classroom setting as well astraining and support within the work place.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience as a Manual HandlingKey Trainer, be capable of working without direct supervision and ensure a high standard of care for all patients by effective manual handling and promotion of best practice for clinical and non-clinical staff. They will also be involved in audits around manual handling, equipment reviews and service development.The successful candidate is required to be able to demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and the person specification.
Main duties of the job
Support the manual handling officer in the design, delivery and evaluation of manual handling programmes- including induction in relation to safe moving and handling, in accordance with Trust and national priorities
Deliver, manual handling and associated equipment training and basic life support training in line with the Trust training plans and according to Trust requirements
To actively maintain a professional manual handling and equipment advisory service across the Trust providing specialist advice for all clinical and non-clinical staff as required
To assist with the promotion of a healthy workplace by educating staff and implementing change to minimise the risk of injury from the moving and handling of loads and people, static postures and repetitive activities.
To utilise and encourage problem solving approaches to create a learning environment in which staff can achieve their learning objectives
