We have a vacancy within our Intensive Home Treatment Team within our inpatient and community ChYPMHS crisis pathway. We are keen to appoint a nurse, social worker or occupational therapist who has a passion for working with children who present with mental health difficulties and to be part of their recovery journey. Experience and training in therapeutic interventions is desired for this role, however for the right candidate training could be offered.
Main duties of the job
The role involves seeing young people who present with mental health difficulties either in crisis, for admission avoidance or to support early discharge from our local inpatient ChYPMHS service. The young people may be seen in their family homes, in school or within the local community, and this may be individual contacts or groups offering therapeutic interventions in line with their formulation and diagnosis.
You will work autonomously within a full MDT and the right candidate will be able to work well under pressure and in the face of emotional situations. The candidate will also be supported through MDT meetings, handovers and supervisions.
The team cover the whole of Kent and Medway, alongside our inpatient ChYPMHS unit. The job includes remote working but also being present in one of our sites for collaborative working with other professionals.All equipment will be provided to support staff in working in an agile and flexible way.
The team operate 7 days a week, covering long days, earlies and lates. There is opportunity to discuss flexible working options with the right candidate.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
