An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time (37.5 hours/week) 6 month fixed term post as a Specialist Nurse in Cystic Fibrosis. A secondment to this post would be considered. We are seeking a highly motivated enthusiastic forward thinking adult trained nurse to join the multi-disciplinary Cystic Fibrosis Centre team based at St Bartholomew's Hospital in The City London. The post holder will work alongside our existing team of Clinical Nurse Specialists to assist in the delivery of patient care
Applicants are required to hold a current 1st level registration with the register and hold experiences in a related specialty (eg respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, high dependency nursing). Applicants should be able demonstrate a level of experience in the complex issues associated with caring for young people and adolescents and end of life care. Excellent interpersonal, communication and team working skills need to be evident and demonstrated.
Successful applicants will receive the support and opportunity to develop their clinical expertise and knowledge regarding all aspects of the Cystic Fibrosis service through formal and informal training and development.
Main duties of the job
To develop, implement and evaluate a seamless specialist Cystic Fibrosis (CF) & non-CF b ronchiectasis nursing service that is aimed at continuously improving standards of patient care and facilitating multi-professional working. This will be achieved through clinical practice, management, education, research and audit and professional activities taking into account directorate, corporate, and national policy and within the clinical governance framework.
The Cystic Fibrosis Clinical Nurse Specialist works alongside their senior colleague, the Cystic Fibrosis multidisciplinary team and helps co-ordinate the multidisciplinary service for adolescents and adults with Cystic Fibrosis.

- Registered first level nurse
- Intravenous accreditation Specialty qualifications.
- Demonstrates an understanding of multi-organ involvement of cystic fibrosis and the implications for clinical care
- Prep for Mentorship course or equivalent.
