NELFT's Intensive Home Treatment Team have an exciting opportunity for a team leader to join the team, covering Kent and Medway.
You will be a team leader of a skilled MDT including support workers, nurses, social workers, therapists, and a consultant. The pathway will be delivering evidenced based interventions to support young people presenting in mental health crisis with the aim of reducing admissions to psychiatric inpatient units and offering early discharge support from tier 4 units.
You will work closely and collaboratively with the community and inpatient matrons, NELFT professionals, KCC, schools and other partner agencies. You will offer clinical and managerial supervision to the team, offer clinical and operational guidance where necessary, attend, represent and lead professional and MDT meetings and develop audits and new processes to support the delivery of the enhanced treatment pathway alongside the matron.
You will also have the opportunity to work alongside and support the other pathway team leaders within the crisis pathway covering the crisis assessment and triage team, short stay services (including the health based place of safety) and the inpatient unit at KMAH.
Main duties of the job
The team are operating a hybrid model of working across both office and agile working. The position is for a pathway team lead to work 3 long days across 7 days in a 4 week rolling pattern.
This post is suitable for registered nurses, social workers or therapists with the relevant experience in mental health crisis, community or inpatient services. You should enjoy working within a busy and challenging environment, and must be able to work effectively under pressure. You must have a thorough knowledge of mental illness, evidenced based therapeutic interventions and clinical risk assessments and must be competent in the utilisation of a model of positive risk taking that supports the patient's independence and autonomy.

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
