The E Task lead coordinator will be a pivotal member of the Out of Hours team delivering professional leadership, support, guidance and excellent clinical skills to our medical and ward teams. The post holder will demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to work with a wide range of colleague's, patients, families and carers.

Main duties of the job

  • Support the E-Task coordinator
  • Line management responsibility
  • Build excellent working relationships with our on call medical teams and other on call managers.
  • Support the implementation of future developments
  • Clinically skilled, supporting ward teams
  • Lead the doctors huddles OOH, ensuring clear plans are in place using SAFER.
  • Promote E-Task and support new staff across the Trust in effectively using the system

Job description

Job responsibilities

To Lead and Co-ordinate E-Task on the patientrack system ensuring that calls and alerts are prioritised and communicated to the medical team on call.

Ensure that standards of care are maintained, monitor and evaluated to ensure Trust standards are met.

Work collaboratively with the Senior Professional Cover Nights and exhibit leadership qualities within the professional and legal framework.

Ensure any interventions and communications about a patients is recorded as per Trust/National Policy

Ensure that the Trust Values and Behaviours are adhered to, whilst following the Trust policies and procedures.

Escalate to your senior colleagues any safety and quality gaps in practice.

Critically evaluate with the Senior Professional Cover Nights the outcomes of service/care and need. Contribute to the development of the nursing and health care workforce.

To provide training for Trust staff in the use of E-Task

Lead on a safe handover procedure to doctors and other Multi Professionals

To communicate effectively ensuring the relevant information from the Multidisciplinary team is used appropriately.

Ensure the E-Task coordinator team complete outstanding tasks on the E-Task system.

Monitor compliance and the timeliness of E-Task job requests.

To allocate, coordinate, monitor and assess own and others workload. Providing support where required

Attend medical emergencies, cardiac arrests, patients suspected as septic and security alerts.

Perform physical skills, such as venepuncture, cannulation, verification of expected death, CPR/Adult advance life support

Work within scope of practice in accordance with the professional code of practice of the NMC, and Trust policies and procedures. Provide assurance that patient safety and clinical effectiveness is maintained.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trusts policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of �41.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary

In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of �13.

Education and qualification

Essential

  • Evidence of study at Degree Level
  • RGN Experience
  • Post Registered course related to clinical skills


Desirable

  • Evidence of leadership courses
  • Evidence of management training

  • Able to attend essential training/meetings on day duty
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Occupational Health clearance


Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Trust values and behaviours
