Looking for a new challenge? Have clinical experience in the field of frailty care as well as in leading nursing teams to delivering quality care and practice innovation? Keen to lead a unit that focus's on caring for the frail elderly? Then this could be the post for you!

The role requires you to have overall responsibility for the 24-hour management of the frailty and complex elderly care ward and to provide on going assurance of delivery of safe, effective, compassionate patient care.

Part of the role will be to foster and lead a care environment that promotes continuous development in frailty care and clinical practice, encouraging innovation and proactively exploring service development. We are always promoting the learner environment and the post holder will also ensure that a suitable and stimulating learning environment for all and for the ongoing professional development of registered nursing workforce.

Key to delivery and success in the post with be the integrated working with all members of the Multi-disciplinary team and medical clinical lead. The provision of robustly maintained communication networks at all appropriate clinical and managerial levels as well as operationally manage resources within agreed budget as key associated strands of this senior leadership role.

You will have the ability to provide excellent leadership and be responsible and accountable for the management of services ensuring that high quality, evidence-based care is delivered.

Person Specification

Education/Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse
  • Registered General Nursing Registration (Level 1)
  • ENB 998 or equivalent
  • Evidence of further continued professional development
  • Degree in Nursing


Experience

Essential

  • Experience as an Band 6 grade
  • Previous experience as shift/team leader
  • Experience of teaching students, HCAs and qualified staff


Desirable

  • Experience of participating in budget management


Skills/Ability

Essential

  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to write clearly and legibly in English
  • Competency in IV drug administration
  • Managerial and leadership ability


Knowledge/ Understanding

Essential

  • Knowledge of evidence informed and research based practice
