Clinical Nurse Specialist - Pelvic Floor DysfunctionBand 6An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Bowel Care Nursing team for a specialist staff nurse with an interest in pelvic floor bowel dysfunction. The aim of this post is to provide specialist care, advice and support to patients undergoing surgery/ treatments for pelvic floor disorders. It will include working in both acute in-patient and out-patient settings, involving the implementation of treatment pathways and evaluation of care given, under the supervision and direction of the lead CNS Pelvic Floor. A key component of the role will be to act as a key worker. In addition the post holder is expected to participate in the development of specific pelvic floor dysfunction education, training and clinical supervision of other staff and students,
The successful candidate will act as a key point of contact for patients throughout a variety of nurse lead treatments and to sign post to the relevant support services to ensure patient centered care
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a highly regarded and innovative team, consisting of two clinical nurse specialists and 2/3 Consultants specializing in Pelvic Floor disorders
The post is based at the University Hospital of North Midlands. Duties will be across both the Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital sites

Job Role summary
- The implementation and evaluation of care pathways of patients throughout their conservative and surgical treatments, under the supervision of Lead CNS Pelvic Floor
These include Sacral nerve Neuromodulation,( SNM) Percutaneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation (PTNS) and Rectal Irrigation.
- Attending bi monthly SNM theatre sessions as support for CNS Band 7 during the insertion of SNM devices and initial post-operative programming
- Liaising with outside agencies and representatives from supplier of medical equipment
- Liaising with secretarial staff as advocate for patients
- Preparing and conducting Nurse led follow up clinics, both face to face and telephone in all conservative treatments
- Act as a resource for specialist knowledge for clinical staff on wards and other departments
- You will be expected to work autonomously but also in collaboration with other members of the wider MDT
- Retrieving and replying to telephone message from the problem solving help line
- Liaising with and being an active member of the Pelvic floor MDT
- Attending and being an active participant of bi-monthly MDT meeting
