Midwife for Midwifery Led Unit

We are recruiting for Core Team members for our co-located Midwifery Led Unit who share our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and have the drive to help take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
Medway Maternity services support approximately 5,000 women and babies per annum. We are forward thinking with motivated staff who strive to improve the quality of the service that we offer to our women, their babies and their families. We have achieved and sustained Baby Friendly Initiative Stage 3 and are now working to maintain this, and provide professional development opportunities for all levels of staff.

Main duties of the job
Would you like to be part of our dynamic Core Team on our Midwife Led Unit who are focused on creating a holistic and individualised experience?
Giving women choice in their place of birth, birth choices and autonomy can lead onto a positive birthing experience. We embrace and support the use of non - pharmacological analgesia, including, aromatherapy, water immersion and hypnobirthing.
We are a small Core Team of midwives who are passionate about supporting birthing people's choice in a low risk environment. We are looking for experienced midwives, who share this passion and feel confident in facilitating physiological labour and birth for families who have had low risk pregnancies or those with additional risk factors that are accessing The Birth Place with a Personalised Care Support Plan. As a member of the core team you will help drive forward this important service which is growing and developing in our post-Covid recovery.
We are a flexible team and support other areas of the unit as required. It will be expected that you may need to work in other areas of Maternity, depending on activity, and will contribute to an on-call system for the hospital.

To work in our Midwifery Led Unit providing safe and effective care to women, birthing people and their families and advocating for them when needed.
To act as the professional lead, promoting physiological birth.
Demonstrating a positive attitude and high level of motivation by showing a strong commitment to the service.
To work closely with the ward Manager and Matron to facilitate developing services.
We are looking for midwives with exceptional communication skills whowill be working alongside consultant midwives and obstetricians to support individualised care using personal care plans.
