The post will be based at the Tarn in Oxleas House. The Tarn is a male PICU.

The Clinical Occupational Therapist will provide specialist occupational therapy assessment, treatment and interventions individually and in groups with responsibility for providing clinical supervision of junior colleagues and students.

Main duties of the job

  • To manage a clinical caseload
  • To work as a member of the MDT
  • To support the development of evidence-based OT practice
  • To provide OT specific assessment & interventions via groups & individual work related to: self-care, work and leisure
  • To contribute to service development and participate in research/audit activities
  • Be part of a specialist team consisting of a Band 4 Occupational Therapy Apprentice and OT students on clinical placement
  • Contribute to and carry out risk assessment & risk management plans
  • To provide specialist OT advice to the MDT
  • To work independently without direct supervision

Occupational Therapists offer specialist clinical skills from birth to end of life care in physical and mental health.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • HCPC registration
Experience Essential
  • Clinical experience in mental health and/or forensic setting
Training Essential
  • Willingness to undertake training in secure setting
