We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced research data analyst to join the team at Born in Bradford (BiB).BiB is an internationally acclaimed applied research programme which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of families living in deprived areas, and the translation of research into practice.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit a research data analyst to play a key supporting role across the BiB family of projects. The role will involve preparing data for research use, data extraction, supporting the development and analysis of the Born in Bradford research programmes, and collaborating with colleagues to delivery high quality research. This is a full-time post based at the Bradford Institute for Health Research, which is the # 1 recruiting site for medical research in the UK this year (ahead of London, Oxford, and Cambridge), and works in close partnership with leading health researchers from across the UK and Europe.

The successful candidate will have a postgraduate degree in in a subject with a major data analytics or research component have proficiency in coding, with strong knowledge of R experience of managing, processing and organising large, complex datasets, and the flexibility and technical skills to work across databases and statistical packages.

- Experience of working with large data sets
- Experience of working with longitudinal cohort study data
- Experience of using/interrogating databases
- Experience of Microsoft applications

- Experience of quantitative data analysis and interpretation
- Evidence of independent work in a research or statistical environment
- Experience of using analytical tools and software for the purposes of preparing datasets in formats suitable for analysis by researchers and statisticians
- Experience of using online repositories (e.g., Github) to store source code and related documentation

- Highly proficient in using R to prepare data for analysis
- Able to construct SQL queries to extract data from relational databases
- Able to produce reusable program code in at least one common statistical or database package e.g., R, SQL

- Accurate, methodological and pays attention to detail
