This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Moorfields supporting Internationally Registered Nurses establish a career at Moorfields and a life in London. The role is to provide both pastoral care support for our new nurses as well as ensure that education and development is at the centre of all our nurses careers, to help them flourish, develop and stay as part of our team long term.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of the internationally educated nurses (IENs) recruitment plan for the Trust and will provide effective pastoral and educational support for newly recruited international nurses as well as supporting our substantive internationally educated healthcare support workers who wish to achieve their NMC registration. They will work towards improving our new recruits experience with the aim of improving retention of staff and maximising recruitment of international nurses.
The post holder will be required to deliver the Capital Nurse Consortiumapproach/ and lead on provision for the delivery of:
IEN Recruitment framework and standards
Pastoral care and support before, during and after onboarding.
OSCE preparation
Ongoing education and career progression support with a focus on retention and development of staff
The main purpose of this post is to ensure that international nurses are supported on their journey to registration and beyond.

To be a highly visible leader and point of contact for all IENs and related teams across the Trust
To be responsible delivery of pastoral care for all international nurse recruits
To be responsible for the development, delivery and coordination of the IEN recruitment and governance of the project
To lead on the development, delivery and coordination of the education requirements for recruited IENs
To be responsible for providing assurance to the trust through continuous monitoring the standards and practice for IEN recruitment including
o Adhering to statutory regulations in all aspects of IEN recruitment, education and pastoral care within the organisation
o Ensuring the continuation of the support plans as described in in the NHS Employers International Toolkit forpastoral care to maintain the Trusts NHSE Pastoral Care Quality Award
o Delivery against the recruitment plans agreed with the clinical divisions
To lead with the wider IEN project team in sourcing cost effective accommodation for the International Nurse recruits
Robustly benchmark, evaluate and continually seek to improve these programmes though feedback and data.
Oversee the delivery of the IEN recruitment buddy programmes.
Implement support, education and training of IENs in HCSW roles through there pathway to achieving registration with the NMC.
Promote opportunities for development and career progression through all routes including apprenticeships.

- Recognised teaching qualification e.g. ENB 998,
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience)

- Knowledge/ experience of supporting overseas registered nurses to gain NMC registration
- Experience of having delivered training and education systematically

- Working in ophthalmology specialty
