UHL has invested in a new Perinatal Safety Improvement Team to work alongside clinical and non-clinical teams. We are seeking to recruit an experiencedProgramme Manager to work as part of a dynamic friendly team in supporting and enabling maternity and neonatal transformation and improvement across University Hospitals Leicester.
The Programme Manager will be integral to driving forward quality improvement and safe outcomes for perinatal (maternity and neonatal) services. Leading the project and quality improvement team, the Programme Manager will deliver a supportive approach - reinforcing sustainable initiatives to services on the ground and working through challenges, whilst also continuing to support the embedding of perinatal surveillance framework, monitoring impact and outcomes.
You will lead on the strategic and operational implementation of Perinatal Safety Improvement Programme which is aligned to the NHS 3 Year Delivery Plan for Maternity and Neonatal Services, in addition to playing a critical role in shaping and implementing services and pathways which are fit for the future.
As an exceptional leader with in-depth knowledge of programme management, service improvement, governance, and assurance you will inspire confidence and innovation amongst our incredible workforce, who work together to ensure the women, babies, families, and staff are safe, are cared for and listened too.

Main duties of the job

- Implementing safety recommendations from national reports
- Leading on national and local quality improvement initiatives
- Addressing variation and quality improvement focusing on areas of need and deprivation to ensure equality of access to services across the system
- Acting as a champion for women, birthing people and their interests and involve women, birthing people, user representatives in quality improvement projects
- Improving better outcomes for women, families, and local populations utilising evidence-based quality improvement approaches that enable both improvement and sustainability in maternity services
- Leading on the UHL response to the implementation of perinatal initiatives relating to the 3 Year Delivery Plan for Maternity and Neonatal Services
- Achieving compliance with NHS Resolution Maternity Incentive Scheme (CNST) 10 safety actions

- Ensure appropriate audits, service review and use improvement methodology to inform service development decision making and change management
- Responsible for developing a programme plan to deliver transformational change
- Responsible for the development of an action plan, and development of robust mechanisms, to provide assurance to the CMG Senior Team and Executives.
- Ensure governance arrangements are in place to support transformational projects project plans including milestones, delivery dates, key performance indicators, risk assessments, and quality impact assessments.
- Provide monthly highlight reports to relevant internal and external forums / groups / committees.
- Ensure the delivery of identified outputs and KPIs
- Ensure that all necessary communications are undertaken across all stakeholders within the organisation and with healthcare partners to enable successful delivery.
