Structural Heart Disease training. Cardiology Fellow with focus on Structural Heart Disease training and research. Also ongoing experience in coronary intervention, the acute cardiology service, the primary PCI on-call rota and a clinic per week. There is a busy Research programme to support and opportunities to write papers.

Main duties of the job
This is a full-time position with options for Consultant-level on-call duties (with backup), depending on the level of training.
It would benefit a senior trainee with an interest in structural intervention. You will be able to train extensively in structural interventions with first-operator experience in TAVI, PFO and ASD closure, LAAO and other structural interventions. You will run the Structural Heart meetings for aortic and mitral MDTs and will work closely with the two clinical Specialist Nurses and eight research nurses. There are 10 structural trials running at any one time and over 40 Cardiology trials and you will be available at times to support Nicola Skipper, Lead Cardiology Research Sister.
The SpR will be attached to named consultant Professor David Hildick-Smith and Dr James Cockburn.
If required the successful candidate will also join the oncall team and on occasion be involved with the day to day care of adult cardiology patients.
The post holder accepts that he / she will also perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant, in consultation, where practicable, with his / her colleagues, both senior and junior.
