Consultant Psychiatrist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

This is a new post, initially for 3 years to set up and develop a new service for young people with complex needs across the Thames Valley (Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire). This follows the award of national funding for ‘Vanguard’ status on the South East Region to Oxford Health NHS FT for delivery of the endeavor. This forms a key part of the NHS ‘long-term plan’ (LTP for children and adolescents).

The successful candidate would be employed by Oxford Health as an identified lead provider for this Vanguard project. A key requirement will be for the post holder to work at a strategic level across the whole Thames Valley to develop practice in line with the ‘Framework for Integrated Care’ (FIC) (NHSE Health and Justice, 2020, attached with this job description). Equally important will be the provision of informed senior clinical support required to develop operational teams in each county. The strategic function will involve development of systemically informed partnerships across agencies and clear interfaces with other significant cross-agency structures and existing partnerships (such as the two Integrated Care Partnerships (ICPs), Provider Collaboratives etc) as well as with other Vanguard projects nationally and the national and regional NHSE Health and Justice teams. The outline for the proposed implementation is explained in detail in the attached expression of interest document.
