The post holder will lead the HDU+ Education, Equipment and Transfer team and work with the HDU plus consultants, PACE (Paediatric assessment & clinical Education) and PIC (Paediatric Intensive Care) providing critical care level 1 and 2 education and equipment and transfer support across the trust. The post holder will be responsible for working with the WMPCCN (West Midlands Paediatric Critical Care Network) to plan, deliver and evaluate educational courses to the regional hospitals
Main duties of the job
The post holder will offer and develop programmes of training and education that facilitate the on-going professional development for all levels of nursing and non-registered clinical workforce (both internally and externally to BWCH)

Main duties of the job
- The post holder will establish and maintain an effective clinical educational environment that supports staff in the delivery of safe, high quality, evidence based care to infants, children, young people and their families.
The post holder will offer and develop programmes of training and education that facilitate the on-going professional development for all levels of nursing and non-registered clinical workforce (both internally and externally to BWCH)
- The post holder will act as an expert practitioner, demonstrating high standards of care and clinical expertise in the delivery of paediatric critical care
- The post holder will be expected to maintain a high clinical profile working in the clinical environment supporting and developing staff and contributing to the clinical service need Contribute to and assist in relevant audit and research projects
- Develop and utilise appropriate mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of educational activity
- Responsibility for leading and developing the equipment and transfer service across BCH.
- To work collaboratively within all relevant teams to ensure best patient care is delivered. This includes bed management and staff education.
