We are looking for a Peripatetic Ward Manager to join Norfolk Community Health and Care Trust
This is a dynamic and challenging role where you will work closely with the permanent ward managers on the 6 general rehabilitation wards to provide operational leadership to the ward teams.
The general rehabilitation wards are busy, providing high standards of care, with dedicated and supportive multi-disciplinary teams who are committed to excellence in patient care.
The role will require the post holder to be proactive, with strong operational skills and the ability to respond quickly to changing priorities. You will have emotional intelligence, be a motivated and supportive leader who is able to build strong relationships and inspire team working.

Main duties of the job
In the absence of the substantive ward manager, to travel/move to a ward and be responsible for the day-to-day operational line management of the team, leading and ensuring a 24 hour, 7 day service is provided.
To facilitate the discharge of patients to and from the community hospital and following Hospital Discharge Guidance including Home First ethos.
To work with all health care professionals, and statutory/non statutory agencies to provide a seamless, integrated service to patients.
To provide senior leadership during the week with the expectation to cover service gaps as required.

To provide leadership and management on the general rehabilitation wards and the respective clinical teams in the absence of the substantive ward manager.
In the absence of the substantive ward manager, to be responsible for the day-to-day operational line management of the team, leading and ensuring a 24 hour, 7 day service is provided.
To facilitate the discharge of patients to and from the community hospital and following Hospital Discharge Guidance including Home First ethos.
To work with all health care professionals, and statutory/non statutory agencies to provide a seamless, integrated service to patients.
To provide senior leadership during the week with the expectation to cover service gaps as required.
There will be a focus on core tasks to support the ward management structure, these will include:
o To lead and promote training and staff development for the continued professional growth of the ward teams.
o The delivery of high standards of nursing care in accordance with evidence-basedpractice and ensuring local and national policies are followed.
o A focus on quality of care and safety on the ward, including learning from experience and leading in good practice.
o The governance and quality around supervision and appraisals.
o Responsibility for clinical input into eRoster management and ensuring Safer Staffing.
o Manage the allocated budget, ensuring resources are efficiently and effectively used and maintained.
o To add value to the role of ward management across the general rehabilitation wards.
