We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed psychologist or psychological therapist to contribute to the development and delivery of community adult mental health services in the city teams in Herefordshire.
Herefordshire is at the forefront of Community Transformation. We have an integrated and inclusive psychological therapies pathway, offering a range of standalone psychological interventions as well as delivering care to those with more complex presentations. We have robust Emotion Regulation and Psychosis Pathways and are central to the development of Trauma Informed Care and promoting Compassionate Leadership across the Trust.

Main duties of the job
The post is integral to the Neighbourhood Community Mental Health Service, working alongside qualified psychologists, psychological therapists and art therapists. New roles include CAPs and MHWBPs.
We emphasise the value of psychological assessment, formulation, and consultation early within a service-users journey. The post holder will provide specialist individual interventions and contribute to our extensive group programme. You will help to create and sustain more co-produced psychologically and trauma informed environments, across the system of care. You will be actively supported to develop service initiatives in line with key national and local priorities and with local partners.
The successful applicant will take a lead on managing our standalone psychological interventions pathway and be the link worker for this arm of the service. This will involve screening referrals, liaising with MDT colleagues and maintaining links with Talking Therapies service.
You will be a valued member of our highly respected psychological service. Across the service we offer a variety of evidence based psychological models and invest in model specific supervision. - Practitioner Psychologist: BSc/BA Honours degree at 2:1 or above in psychology
- Post graduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS)
- Eligible for registration as a Chartered Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling) by the BPS
- Registered with HCPC as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist
- Evidence of regular continuing professional development through further professional training and experience, as required by the HCPC and the BPS
- Post qualification training in specific, evidence based techniques for use with clients with complex psychological presentation and/or physical health difficulties, across the age span.
- Psychological Therapist: Post-graduate qualification in psychological assessment and psychological therapy (e.g. Post-graduate diploma in CBT, IAPT high intensity CBT diploma, CAT diploma)
- Registered with a recognised professional registering body (e.g. HCPC, BABCP, NMC)
- Accredited in a governed psychological therapy via a recognised accrediting body
- Trained in clinical supervision
- Evidence of relevant continuing professional development.

- Practitioner Psychologist: Experience required specific to the role and clinical area
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a qualified clinical/counselling psychologist within the relevant area.
- Sufficient training and experience to be recognised by the Division of Clinical/Counselling Psychology as a suitably qualified psychologist to offer clinical placements to trainee Clinical/Counselling Psychologists
- Training and experience in the application of psychological knowledge within a number of different specialties
- Experience of assessing and providing a wide range of psychological interventions to patients presenting with the full degree of clinical severity and across a range of clinical mental health presentations
- Experience of conducting clinically relevant research
- Psychological Therapist: Significant experience working as a mental health professional (Psychological Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Nurse, Social Worker etc)
- Experience of strategic planning and service development
- Experience of assessing and providing a wide range of interventions
- Experience of teaching and training across a range of professional groups
- Experience of providing clinical supervision within your specialist group and to other professionals delivering specific therapy
- Experience of conducting clinically relevant audits around the psychological service provision
- Experience of assessing patients presenting across a wide range of clinical severity and across a wide range of clinical presentation within adult mental health
- Post graduate experience in specific, evidence based techniques for use with clients with complex psychological presentations and co morbid psychiatric diagnoses.
