We have a rare opportunity for a Senior Digital and Multimedia Content Officer to join our team to cover maternity leave, and we are looking for talented designers and content creators to apply.

You will be working with the Communications team across internal and external projects to bring your design expertise to what we do online and offline.

Working within our brand guidelines, you will be leading on creative visual content to promote our latest campaigns, initiatives and projects.

Recent design projects include leading on creating a whole suite of materials to showcase our employer brand, developing bespoke graphics and displays for our new intensive care unit, and producing engaging page layouts for our Year in Review magazine.

As well as a core focus on graphic design, this role involves creating short videos, overseeing our social media platforms, and adding to our corporate photography library.

A strong knowledge of the Adobe suite of design programmes (including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator) is essential, as well as an eye for photography.

We're a forward-thinking and supportive team, and we need your creativity to help us to showcase the things that are important to the RUH and its people, in line with our RUH strategy, vision and values. You'll play a key part in us reaching our patients, our colleagues and our community.

The role is based at the hospital but with opportunities to work from home on occasion, subject to the needs of the team.

Main duties of the job

Design:
  • Leading the planning, design and production of high quality on-brand materials in print and digital form. This includes leaflets, graphics, displays and posters.
  • Leading on high profile internal and external campaigns, developing distinct visual identities as appropriate.
  • Analysing and interpreting briefs, and negotiating the best approach within budget and timescales
  • Maintaining advanced knowledge of graphic design software (Adobe) plus Microsoft Office.
  • Maintaining the corporate brand, ensuring that all materials produced are to a consistent high standard and meet NHS and RUH guidelines.
Video & photography:
  • Producing original engaging content to use across a number of communications channels, including short videos and photographs.
  • Taking and editing high quality photographs and videos.
Social media:
  • Overseeing RUH social media accounts, including monitoring, scheduling, evaluating and developing existing channels. Current channels include Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn.
  • Influencing and advising on the best ways to promote key messages on social media to meet objectives
Other:
  • Interpreting complex information to provide effective advice.
  • With the wider Communications team, researching and planning for awareness days, national campaigns and other relevant activity.
  • Monitoring trends in design, digital engagement and social media to identify and apply best practice.
  • Undertaking research to maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
