There is a very exciting opportunity within the North London Mental Health Partnership (NLMHP) for a specialty doctor with experience o general adult or rehabilitation psychiatry to join the Enfield Acute Adult Inpatient Services based at Chase Farm Hospital in Enfield. We are looking for a part itme consultant with an interest in rehabilitation to work for up to 1 year on our male high intensity rehabilitation ward, Somerset Villa/. This is to take the place of the substantive post holder who is taking a 1 year sabbatical. The post is shared with another part time substantive consultant and supported by a full time substantive specialty doctor.
This would be an ideal opportunity for a specialty doctor with an interest in general adult or rehabilitation psychiatry. Robust clinical and managerial support will be provided to the post holder in ensuring that they are able to deliver the best possible service.

Main duties of the job
Enfield Urgent Care Services consist of four in-patient wards (Dorset, Suffolk, Sussex and Devon) and the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT). The advertised post is for a consultant on Somerset Villa which is a 13-bed male high dependency rehabilitation ward at Chase Farm Hospital in Enfield. The post is available as the current substantive consultant will be taking a sabbatical for 12 months.
Somerset Villa forms part of the North Central London inpatient rehabilitation services and serves Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. Patients from Camden and Islington are served by Malachite and Montague Wards (at Highgate Centre for Mental Health) and long-term high dependency rehabilitation for men from all 5 boroughs is provided on Sunstone Ward, also at the Highgate Centre. There is no current female rehabilitation provision for patients from Barnet, Enfield and Haringey and this is therefore sourced externally.

Whilst several CPD peer groups have formed within Enfield, the consultants are also encouraged to seek peer groups outside the organization as an opportunity to network and share experience with colleagues from other services. A monthly Balint-Group for consultants is planned to re-start very soon following the new appointment of a consultant psychotherapist. This gives opportunity to conduct in-depth case-based discussions (CbD) required for annual appraisals and revalidation. New consultants (up to five years following appointments) are encourages to link in as a group and are supported by the Medical Leads during their induction. New consultants are also encouraged to make use of the Start Well program facilitated by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. All new consultants are given the opportunity to seek a mentor within or outside the organization as part of their job plan.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- oFull registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
- oListed on the Specialist Register of the GMC Medical Register or eligible to register within six months.
- oMembership of Royal College of Psychiatrist or equivalent qualifications/ certification
- oTo be approved under Section 12 (2) of the 1983 Mental Health Act, the 2007 amendments and any successor legislation.
- oApproved Clinician status in terms of the same legislation
- oTraining and experience in evidence-based interventions Rehabilitation
- oMembership of a professional indemnity organization
- oEngagement with annual appraisal.
