Dietitian Band 6 Rotational
We have a vacancy for a permanent full time rotational Band 6 Dietitian.
This post is part of a 9 month rotation scheme in the following areas: Acute Medicine , Senior Health, Acute Stroke and Inpatient Neuro Rehabilitation.
The role requires strong nutrition support skills, especially enteral feeding. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is enthusiastic and dynamic with excellent communication skills and acute inpatient experience.
The wider dietetic department consists of over 60 dietitians, who provide clinical inpatient and outpatient services to a variety of specialities including oncology, renal, neurology, haematology, paediatrics, cardiology, major trauma, gastro, surgical, diabetes, infectious diseases and HIV.The department is committed to training dietetic students and actively participates in the training programmes of clinical and non-clinical staff. There are numerous opportunities for professional and personal development.
Main duties of the job
This post is part of a 9 month rotation scheme in the 4 following areas:
Acute Stroke
During this rotation you will be split between the St Georges Hospitals Hyper- Acute Stroke Unit and acute stroke Unit, which wasrecently highlighted by The Stroke Association as a beacon of good practice. You will work closely with the Band 7 team lead for stroke and the Unit's strongmultidisciplinary teamdaily to plan, provide and monitor best nutritional practice for acute and recovering stroke patients.
Acute Medicine and Senior Health
You will be working within a well-established, proactive MDT, responsible for supporting the team to cover 8 acute medical and senior health wards. This is a fast paced and interesting role, working with a wide variety of patient groups, which will both challenge and develop your skills in nutrition support and enteral feeding.
Inpatient Neuro Rehabilitation
This rotation specialises in the nutritional management of inpatients post stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal injury as well as other long term conditions such as Guillain-Barr syndrome.
Senior Health Rehabilitation and General Adult Outpatients
You will be based at Queen Mary's Hospital Roehampton working within the community dietetics team. You will be responsible for covering the senior health rehabilitation ward, general outpatients clinics and delivering group education sessions eg cardiac rehab and amputee rehab.
