This vacancy is open to current employees of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals who are part of The South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology Service only. Any other applications will be rejected and not taken forward.
We are seeking to appoint Subject Matter Analysts who will play a key role in the implementation of the new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) incorporating LIMS across the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology (SYBP) Service. This is a fixed term post until May 2026.
The postholders will provide analytical and practical support to the laboratory teams to take forward improvements and new ways of working, enable successful service transition, drive operational change and help realise the qualitative and quantitative benefits available with a fully integrated LIMS. Business Analysts will be in place for each of the following disciplines:
Blood Sciences
Histopathology
Bacteriology.
We are looking for individuals who have held HCPC Registration within the last 5 years, who are digitally minded and are keen to bring their expertise in one of the three named disciplines to the programme.
The experienced Subject Matter Analyst will be a champion in their own field and must carry credibility with colleagues. They will play a vital role in enabling successful service transition and therefore must have an aptitude for understanding digital systems and its enablers in healthcare.
Main duties of the job
Working collaboratively within a LIMS workstream with members of the Implementation Team, the postholder be responsible for ensuring their workstream activities are delivered within agreed timescales, appropriately escalating when problems arise to ensure the programme timeline is adhered to.
The postholders will collaborate with a team of change partners to work with the supplier, laboratory and operational transformation leads to design the clinical configuration. They will provide updates and produce standard operating procedures for the new processes developed for the Oracle Health LIMS module.
Together with the laboratory teams the post holders will ensure that all priorities are aligned to achieve the whole programme plan. They will support staff to develop and improve the new LIMS for all Laboratory services across SYB Pathology and will work with the clear objective that LIMS will improve patient safety, quality of care and patient experience.
